"Exploring Tanzania's Southern Parks: Six-Day Adventure."

Visit three of the largest wildlife reserves in Tanzania. Nyerere National Park which is known as a stronghold for African wild dogs with up to 900 roaming the reserve’s open grassland and Miombo Woodlands. Only 5,000 wild dogs remain in the whole of Africa which means it is one of the world’s most endangered wildlife species. Nyerere National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest faunal reserves of the world. Mikumi National Park covers an area of 3,230 km² and is the fourth largest national park in Tanzania. More than 400 bird dpecies have been recorded in Mikumi National Park. We also visit Ruaha National Park and we combine walking safaris on foot adventure with the standard game drive in a 4×4 safari vehicle.

Arrive to Dar es Salaam (Julius Nyerere International Airport)

Welcome to Tanzania. You will be picked up at Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam, and transferred to your hotel in Dar es Salaam.  You will meet the company representative and your guide who will brief you and cross check all important travel documents

Day 1: Nyerere National Park

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel followed by a drive to the Nyerere National Park. Indulge in the beauty of the scenic Uluguru Mountains while crossing through the fertile farming African villages of Matombo famous for their organic produce. We will also drive through the villages of Mkuyuni and Kisaki, the later being a junction station for Tanzania Zambia railways line. We enter the park ready to be served a late lunch followed by game viewing.

Day 2: Nyerere National Park

Today we continue with our game drive along the edges of the lakes, rivers, and bushes are extra attractive conjuring up a special magic as the sun goes down over the lakes to ensure each guest has an unforgettable African safari. We are more likely to see a variety of wildlife in a short period of time. You might opt for an optional activity (additional charge)  of a walking safari or an afternoon boat safari.

Day 3: Nyerere National Park to Morogoro Region.

We check out after breakfast.  We spend the morning en route on a game drive with a picnic lunch. Exploring the park from the east to northwest, Matambwe Gate, drive towards Kisaki Village, Matombo Village, crossing Uluguru Mountain Highlands, famous for bird lovers and we enter the cty of Morogoro in the late afternoon.

Day 4: Mikumi National Park

After breakfast we drive to Mikumi National Park, through the busy route of the Dar es Salaam – Mbeya highways, passing through various African villages, then we continue to Mikumi National Park where we will spend 2 nights, we enter the park around midday, check In at our camp ready to be served for late lunch, afternoon we continue with a game drive until early evening.

Day 5: Mikumi National Park

The day is yours to divide however you wish between enjoying the accommodation and game viewing in Mikumi National Park.

Day 6: Ruaha National Park.

After breakfast, we check out and drive to Ruaha National Park (320 km). The journey will be approximately a 5–6-hour drive via Kitonga Mountains. The town of Iringa, including a rough and dusty road, 13 km drive west of Iringa. 

Day 7: Ruaha National Park.

You have the choice how the day is spent between game viewing and relaxing at the accommodation. 

Day 8: Dar Es Salaam.

After breakfast, we do a morning game drive or you can add an optional walking safari. At around 10:45, travel with a picnic lunch, to Msembe airstrip in Ruaha, say goodbye to your driver guide, and board the flight to Dar es Salaam. Arrive at Dar es Salaam at the Domestic Terminal, and take a shuttle bus to the main terminal to Dar es Salaam Julius Nyerere Int. Airport Terminal for your onward journey back home or a possible extension to Zanzibar. End of service.
