4-DAY SAFARI
LAKE MANYARA , HADZABE TRIBE, NGORONGORO CRATER & TARANGIRE
Over four days, experience exhilarating game drives visiting Lake Manyara, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire , and a Hadzabe tribe visit. This itinerary is suitable for both basic camping and lodge/tented camp accommodations.
"Four days in Tanzania: Nature's marvel."
Day 1:
You are met by your Dotcom safari guide in the morning, where you have a safari briefing and then proceed to Lake Manyara National Park for game viewing. There will be a pause to enjoy a picnic style lunch then continuing to enjoy the park until late afternoon when we will exit the park and go to your evenings accommodation for relaxation, dinner, and overnight rest. Note that this accommodation will not be inside the national park.
Day 2
A very early wake up call as we will be traveling to visit the Hadzabe tribe. Of the 120 tribes in Tanzania, the Hadzabe are the most unique having declined to adapt to almost all modern ways of life. They are one of the few true hunter-gatherer tribes left in the world. This morning you will have the chance to follow them on a hunt and observe their way of life which they truly love. Afterwards you will get a chance to compare your archery skills with them and your ability to start fires by rubbing sticks together. Afterwards, we will return to your accommodation where you will get a chance to relax for the rest of the day.
Day 3
An early start to this day as we take you inside Ngorongoro Crater, one of Africa’s best safari destinations. We travel west, entering Ngorongoro Conservation Area, then descend the 600m (2,000ft) crater wall. This safari destination is noted for its high concentration of animals with a large variety present, including all of the “Big Five”- elephants, rhinoceros, African buffaloes, lions, and leopards. We will enjoy a picnic-style lunch inside of the crater. This destination is not large, just 20km in diameter so in 4 – 5 hours all will be seen. We then travel to Tarangire National Park where we will have a short game drive as we go to our accommodation inside of the park.
Day 4
After breakfast, you will have game viewing in Tarangire National Park. This park is known for its very large elephant population. This park also has a large number of giraffes, lions, leopards, zebras, buffaloes, monkeys, pythons, and many others. Especially during the dry months of June – October, and January – February, many animals are drawn to the Tarangire River for water. The landscape dotted with giant, unique looking boabab trees gives this park a distinct look. In the mid-afternoon, we will return you to your hotel in Arusha or transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport, or Moshi for the end of the itinerary.
